Rabat hosts the ninth Regional Tarab Al Ala Festival under the theme “Tarab Al Ala, a living and renewed heritage” from 20 to 22 July 2026. The programme includes an opening ceremony at the Mohammed V National Theatre, two musical evenings at Bahnini Hall with orchestras and performers from different Tarab Al Ala schools, and an academic symposium on 21 July at Mohamed El Fassi Hall about the transition from oral memory to scholarly documentation. Tributes will also honour several pioneers of the tradition.
