About this event
From November 15 to 19, 2026, Zagora hosts the 22nd edition of its International Film Festival, conceived as a space for films to circulate, filmmakers to meet and cultures to engage in dialogue. Directors, actors, producers, professionals and audiences from different countries are invited to experience cinema in a territory deeply shaped by Saharan and Amazigh cultures. Beyond screenings and the official selection, the festival announces juries, workshops, masterclasses, conferences, professional encounters and open-air desert cinema experiences. Its identity is rooted in the relationship between filmmaking and living heritage, including music, everyday arts, local cuisine, landscapes, hospitality and collective memory. Cultural itineraries around Zagora, Amezrou, Tamegroute and major film locations in southern Morocco reinforce this immersive approach. By connecting international films, emerging talent and local heritage, the Zagora International Film Festival aims to strengthen cinema in southern regions and position Zagora as a place of creation, transmission and cultural tourism.
