New Oued Zem Cultural Centre

## About the centre The **New Oued Zem Cultural Centre** was **officially inaugurated on 28 July 2026**, according to an announcement published by the **Oued Zem municipality**. The ceremony involved provincial and regional cultural authorities and local representatives. The project emerged from cooperation involving the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the **National Initiative for Human Development** and the municipal council, with a public mission of strengthening access to cultural facilities. ## Programmes and facilities Reports surrounding the inauguration describe **a theatre space, a library and areas for creative activity**. Local media cite project spending of **more than MAD 11.5 million**; this remains an attributed press figure, not an independently audited final cost. After years of development and anticipation, the centre creates possibilities for performances, workshops, literary activity, exhibitions and local associations. **No fixed year-round programme** has been confirmed in the reviewed sources. ## Access and current status The facility expands the cultural infrastructure of Oued Zem and the wider Khouribga province. **Official inauguration should not be taken as proof that every room operates daily**: opening times, library services, prices and admission conditions must be confirmed with the operator. No verified street number or dedicated public telephone has been established.
