Debdou’s public cultural centre

The Debdou Cultural Centre forms part of Morocco’s public cultural network. Located in Debdou, in Taourirt Province, it provides a local cultural space for residents of the town and surrounding area.

The centre hosts local activities combining performance, public engagement and artistic practice. In May 2024, the French Institute of Oujda presented a workshop and a theatre-and-puppetry performance there, confirming the venue’s role in cultural presentation and mediation.

A cultural link within a historic town

Debdou has a distinctive urban and cultural history. The centre connects that local identity with contemporary creation, work for younger audiences and projects developed with regional partners. It is also among the centres associated with the expansion of public film screenings.
