Artingis Gallery – Tangier

## History and identity **Artingis**, also styled **Art Tingis**, is a small Tangier gallery, specialist bookshop and collection of visual curiosities. It is especially known for **historic photographs of Morocco**, early travel images, old prints, maps, books and documents that illuminate social and urban memory. Under **Yann Tribes**, the gallery connects collectors and researchers with original photographic material from different periods. ## Exhibitions and creative programme During **Photo Tanger 2026**, it hosted **“Back to Morocco”** (June–August), a selection of photographs from the late nineteenth and first half of the twentieth century. Featured photographers included **Jacques Belin, Bernard Rouget, Jean Besancenot and Marcelin Flandrin**. The street number is disputed: recent exhibition reporting lists **11 Rue Khalid Ibn El Oualid**, while a 2025 museum brochure lists **42** on the same street.
