Gallery Kent Tangier

## An independent contemporary art gallery in Tangier **Gallery Kent** is a contemporary art gallery at 19 Rue Jabha Wataniya in central Tangier. Founded in **2017**, it has become an active venue in northern Morocco’s art scene, presenting established Moroccan artists, international creators and emerging practices. Its programme combines exhibitions with talks, publications and collaborations across Tangier’s cultural network. ## Supporting contemporary creation Painting, sculpture, photography and installation all appear in the gallery’s programme. Gallery Kent supports recognised artists while also providing visibility to younger practices connected to Tangier, Tetouan and the wider Moroccan art scene. Themes explored through its exhibitions include memory, identity, the body, landscape, ecology and contemporary imagination. ## Active programming in 2026 In 2026, Gallery Kent presented **Par endroits**, a group exhibition drawn from its collection, followed by **Advenir entre les rivages** as part of Photo Tanger 2026, featuring Fadia Ahmad, Amina Benbouchta, Zoulikha Bouabdellah and Meriem Bouderbala. This continued participation in major visual-art programmes confirms the gallery’s role as a permanent platform for contemporary creation. ## Part of Tangier’s art ecosystem Gallery Kent sits within a broader network that includes the [Tangier Cinematheque – Cinema Rif](/en/institutions/cinematheque-tanger), the [Tangier Palace of Arts and Culture](/en/institutions/palais-arts-tanger) and the [Institut Français de Tanger](/en/institutions/ifm-tanger).
