A public cultural centre serving Guercif
Guercif House of Culture is a public cultural centre overseen by the regional culture directorate for Morocco’s Oriental region. Opened in 2014, it was established through a partnership involving the ministry responsible for culture, the National Initiative for Human Development, the Province, the Provincial Council and the Municipality of Guercif.
The venue offers residents, artists and community organisations a place for creation, learning and exchange. Its work helps make culture part of everyday life in the city while supporting locally led initiatives.
Arts, public encounters and local initiatives
The House of Culture hosts visual-arts exhibitions, creative workshops, lectures and cultural activities. It also welcomes coordination meetings with civil-society organisations and programmes developed with local authorities and partners.
These activities encourage artistic discovery, public participation and dialogue between institutions, artists, associations and audiences.
Reading and cultural participation
Public reading is an important part of the venue’s role. Its library has recorded strong attendance within the Oriental region, reflecting its importance for readers, pupils, students and families.
