Instituto Cervantes – Nador Extension

## Institution and location The **Nador extension of Instituto Cervantes Fès** was **inaugurated in November 2018** in the former **Lope de Vega Spanish school building**, at **1 Avenue Mohamed Zerktouni**. The institute brings Spanish-language education and cultural exchange to the eastern Rif, a region with longstanding cross-Mediterranean ties. Both the Cervantes directory and press reporting from the inauguration establish the local branch and its connection to Fès. ## Facilities and cultural purpose At its opening, the renovated site was reported to cover approximately **200 square metres**, with **reading, teaching and administrative spaces**. It was designed to support Spanish classes, access to cultural resources and preparation for **DELE examinations**, while introducing Spanish and Latin American cultures. This centre is **not the same as Nador’s municipal cultural complex**, which belongs to a different public institution. ## Programmes and status in 2026 The Fès Cervantes institute’s **2026 schedules** list **B1-level teaching in Nador**, providing recent evidence of educational use. Visitors should check current opening times, course registration, examination arrangements and any cultural event directly with the local branch. An independently confirmed year-round performance programme has not been found. The cover shows the **2018 opening of the branch**, not a verified 2026 exterior photograph.
