Les Ateliers Libres – Dar Bouazza

## History and cultural identity **Les Ateliers Libres in Dar Bouazza** is an arts-learning and community performance centre in the **Jack Beach** district, at the **Hôtel des Arts** near Casablanca. The organisation marked fifteen years of activity with its **2025–2026 season**, offering ongoing creative education for children, teenagers and adults. Its approach connects weekly classes, public performance and collective artistic creation rather than treating culture as a series of one-off rentals. ## Architecture, facilities and programming The centre describes a space of approximately **1,500 square metres**, housing an **80-seat small theatre**, **two exhibition rooms**, a dance area, a visual-arts workshop and multipurpose studios. Activities include theatre, music, singing, classical and contemporary dance, hip-hop, drawing, yoga and movement-based practices. Artist residencies, screenings, workshops and exhibitions complement the teaching programme, with spaces designed to accommodate cultural events alongside regular classes. ## Artistic events and audiences Culturama's archives already mention the venue: comedian **Jalil Tijani** scheduled work-in-progress appearances on **18 and 25 September 2024**. More broadly, the project offers a model of neighbourhood arts infrastructure beyond central Casablanca, enabling people to learn skills, rehearse, present work and participate in local cultural life. Enrolment dates, class schedules, admissions and show tickets change by season and should be confirmed directly; third-party opening-hour listings are inconsistent. ## Visiting information - **Address:** Hôtel des Arts, Jack Beach, Dar Bouazza, province de Nouaceur, Grand Casablanca - **Phone:** +212 661 11 23 75 - **Information:** [main reference](https://lesatelierslibres.my.canva.site/les-ateliers-libres-dar-bouazza) - **Opening and access:** Hôtel des Arts is the location landmark, but the studios maintain their own programme.
