From 20 June to 29 August 2026, the Athens Epidaurus Festival unfolds performing arts across the Greek capital and the ancient sites of Epidaurus.
The 2026 edition
The programme activates the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Peiraios 260, the Ancient Theatre and the Little Theatre of Epidaurus. Reimagined tragedies, Greek premieres, international companies, contemporary dance, music and public programmes bring heritage into dialogue with present-day performance.
Why this festival matters
Since 1955, the festival has connected historic settings and experimentation. Audiences move between ancient theatre, repurposed industrial spaces and urban stages, experiencing architecture and place as part of the artistic work.
