The National Aita Art Festival places Safi at the centre of an oral heritage where poetry, singing, performance and social memory meet.
Multiple schools and voices
Chioukhs, cheikhates, singers, musicians and ensembles present several forms of Aita, each rooted in specific territories, narratives and performance styles.
Performance, archives and transmission
Concerts are accompanied by discussions and tributes addressing the history of Aita, women’s contribution and the preservation of oral repertoires.
