The Regional Tarab Al Ala Festival celebrates one of Morocco’s major learned musical traditions through concerts, research, documentation and transmission.
A living heritage
Tarab Al Ala is presented as an evolving practice sustained by orchestras, performers, researchers and associations. The festival combines listening with reflection on the noubas and their historical journeys.
The 2026 edition
The ninth edition ran from 20 to 22 July 2026 across several cultural venues in Rabat under the theme “Tarab Al Ala, a living and renewed heritage”.
