Málaga Film Festival is a major platform for Spanish-language cinema, bringing together Spanish and Ibero-American films, series, documentaries, shorts and audiovisual industry programmes.

Málaga Film Festival is one of the leading events devoted to cinema in Spanish. Organised by the city of Málaga, it combines competition, emerging talent, Ibero-American exchange and audiovisual industry development.

A panorama of Spanish-language cinema

The programme includes feature films, documentaries, shorts, animation, series and special screenings. Official sections are joined by Zonazine and programmes focused on Andalusian cinema, women’s rights and new audiovisual forms.

MAFIZ and the industry

MAFIZ brings together producers, distributors, international sales agents, institutions and project holders. It supports co-production, funding, networking and circulation between Spain, Latin America and international markets.

2026 edition

The 29th edition took place from 6 to 15 March 2026. Its official report highlighted strong public attendance and industry participation from 61 countries.
