SITGES — International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia is one of the world’s most influential events for fantastic cinema, horror, science fiction, animation and hybrid genre forms.
A laboratory for genre cinema
The programme spans the official competition, Panorama, Órbita, Noves Visions, Anima’t, Midnight X-Treme, Brigadoon, documentaries and family proposals. Major premieres meet independent cinema, genre heritage and international discoveries.
Industry, talent and diversity
Sitges Industry supports professionals through Fantastic 7, meetings, co-production spaces and development programmes. WomanInFan strengthens the visibility of women creators in fantastic cinema, while Fanlab and youth juries open the festival to new generations.
2026 edition
The 59th edition is scheduled for 8–18 October 2026. Its visual identity marks the fiftieth anniversary of Carrie, while film submissions cover the festival’s main competitive and parallel sections.
