The Seville Flamenco Biennial is one of the world’s leading events devoted to flamenco. Created in 1980 and organised every two years by the city, it presents flamenco as living heritage, stage practice and a field of innovation.
Cante, baile and toque
The programme brings together singing, dance, guitar, instrumental creation and hybrid forms. Historic artists meet new generations through world premieres, one-off evenings and productions designed for specific venues.
A whole city involved
The Teatro de la Maestranza, Lope de Vega, Teatro Central, Espacio Turina, churches, squares and other spaces host performances, exhibitions, film cycles, workshops, encounters and presentations. The Biennial therefore shapes Seville’s cultural life beyond its main stages.
2026 edition
The 24th edition is scheduled for 9 September–3 October 2026. More than seventy performances, numerous premieres and exceptional evenings explore the memory of the Ópera flamenca, the roots of the form and its contemporary transformations.
