The Valletta Guitar Festival is a new addition to the Festivals Malta calendar. It places the guitar at the centre of a programme designed to connect performance, creation, learning and a variety of repertoires within Valletta’s cultural landscape.
A new festival in 2026
Presented in Festivals Malta’s 2026 cultural programme, the event expands the country’s specialist music offer. Its launch forms part of a strategy linking focused festivals, heritage venues and audience development.
The guitar as a plural language
The instrument moves across classical music, Mediterranean traditions, jazz, popular music and contemporary forms. This range creates opportunities for Maltese artists, international guests, students and amateur musicians to meet.
Dates
The first edition was announced for 10 to 12 September 2026 in Valletta. Detailed venues, artists and activities should be checked in the updated official programme.
