Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum

A municipal museum devoted to printmaking, the work of Hambis Tsangaris and the teaching of graphic arts in Nicosia.

Exhibition visual from the Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum

The Hambis Municipal Printmaking Museum in Nicosia is devoted to Cypriot and international printmaking. It extends the work of artist and printmaker Hambis Tsangaris while presenting graphic arts as a living practice explored through collections, exhibitions and hands-on workshops.

A museum for printmaking

The collections include works by Hambis Tsangaris alongside prints by artists from Cyprus and abroad. The displays introduce different printmaking processes, their artistic uses and their development over time. The Nicosia museum complements the historic Platanisteia site, where the Hambis project first developed.

Exhibitions and artistic practice

The programme includes temporary exhibitions, thematic displays and projects on the history of printmaking in Europe and the Mediterranean. In 2026, both the Nicosia and Platanisteia museums continue to present regular exhibitions, reflecting the institution’s ongoing activity.

Learning by making

The museum organises workshops, group visits and educational programmes. Visitors can discover printmaking processes, see the tools used by artists and understand how an image is transferred and multiplied. The museum shop offers original prints, books, catalogues and objects inspired by the collections.

Plan your visit

The museum is located at 55–59 Ammochostou Street in Nicosia. Published winter opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 10:00–13:00 and 15:00–17:00. Seasonal hours and current exhibitions should be checked before visiting.
