The Museum of Ancient Glass Zadar is a specialist archaeological institution dedicated to the uses, techniques and forms of glass in antiquity.
An exceptional collection
The museum holds more than five thousand objects dating mainly from the first century BCE to the fifth century CE. Over fifteen hundred complete pieces appear in a permanent display organised by theme, including tableware, containers, jewellery, cosmetic and pharmaceutical utensils, urns and architectural glass.
Research and craft knowledge
Located in the historic Cosmacendi Palace with a contemporary extension, the museum combines conservation, scholarly research, exhibitions and education. Workshops and demonstrations also introduce visitors to glassblowing and lampworking techniques.
