About this event
Moroccan rap pioneers take the stage in Oujda
H-Kayne are appearing in Oujda during the sixth edition of the Maghreb Book Fair « Lettres du Maghreb ». Emerging from Meknes, the group helped establish hip-hop as a widely recognised form of Moroccan artistic and social expression. Their Darija lyrics, energetic performance style and lasting connection with several generations of listeners have made them a landmark act in Morocco's urban music history.
Hip-hop meets the world of books
By bringing an influential rap act to a literary event, the programme connects contemporary music, language and the storytelling traditions of the Maghreb. Rap provides a platform for personal narratives, social commentary and new ways of performing words in public. The organiser has not provided a confirmed setlist, special guests or an opening act, so these details should not be presumed.
