About this event
The meeting provides an academic framework for examining how religions are studied comparatively: how research objects are defined, how religious traditions and texts are approached, how historical contexts interact with the humanities, and what methodological challenges arise when traditions are compared.
The conference pays tribute to Dr Lakhdar Ben Yahya Zahout. Scientific coordination brings together Dr Mohamed El Benaïadi, Dr Hamid Mesrar, Dr Youssef El Alami, Abderrahim Mouaffaq and Dr Karima Douz, with several research institutions contributing to the programme.
Partners include the Sidi Ahmed Aberkane Centre for Scientific Cooperation, the Laboratory for Research Methods in Islamic Sciences and Heritage Revitalisation, and the Ach-Chouhoud Centre for Scientific Research and Civilisational Studies.
Beyond its academic scope, the event contributes to broader reflection on the study of religions, comparative approaches and intellectual dialogue. Both days begin at 9:00 am in the Nidaa As-Salam Hall at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences in Oujda.
