American Space Oujda – Saoura Library

## About the institution and its status **American Space Oujda**, previously **American Corner Oujda**, is an information and cultural facility created through a **partnership between Oujda municipality and the U.S. Embassy in Morocco**. It is hosted by **Saoura Library**, which the organisation associates with **Boulevard Mohammed VI**, while some directories list **Rue Dakhla**. Visitors should confirm the precise entrance. This U.S.-government-supported cultural space is independent of the private American Language Center network. ## Facilities, arts and cultural resources Municipal reporting documents the opening of the **American Corner at Saoura Library on 15 October 2008**, supported by books, audiovisual resources and cultural-information facilities. The wider **American Spaces** programme offers access to knowledge about U.S. society, literature, education, technology, dialogue and English practice. Depending on each local announcement, activities may include reading circles, talks, learning workshops and cultural gatherings. ## Documented programmes and 2026 access The **U.S. Department of State's American Spaces directory** continues to list Oujda with a contact telephone and email. The organisation's professional profile locates it at **Saoura Library on Boulevard Mohammed VI**; other directories say **Rue Dakhla**, so a precise route should be checked with staff. **No specific 2026 events calendar or reliable regular public hours have been confirmed.** A directory displaying 00:00–00:00 should not be treated as open around the clock. The cover is a **historical 2008 inauguration photograph**, not an image of today's facilities. ## Practical visitor information - **Address :** Bibliothèque Saoura, boulevard Mohammed VI / secteur rue Dakhla, Oujda, Maroc (vérifier l'entrée exacte) - **Telephone :** +212 536 50 67 57 - **Contact :** salima.americancorner@gmail.com - **Official site :** [https://americanspaces.info/locator/acoujda](https://americanspaces.info/locator/acoujda) ## Related Culturama venues [Institut français d’Oujda](/institutions/institut-francais-oujda) · [Centre culturel Iklyle Oujda](/institutions/centre-culturel-iklyle-oujda) ## Sources and photograph credits [americanspaces.info](https://americanspaces.info/locator/acoujda) · [us.diplomatie.ma](https://us.diplomatie.ma/en/educational-and-cultural-exchange-programs) · [www.linkedin.com](https://www.linkedin.com/company/american-space-oujda) · [www.oujdacity.net](https://www.oujdacity.net/regional-article-15236-ar/regional-article-15236-ar.html) · [www.africabizinfo.com](https://www.africabizinfo.com/fr-MA/american-space-oujda-05365-06757) *OujdaCity : photographie d'archive de l'inauguration de l'American Corner à la bibliothèque Saoura en 2008, non photographie de l'aménagement actuel ; droits externes.*
