About this event
On Saturday 17 October 2026 at 5:30pm, the French Institute library in Rabat welcomes Laura Nsafou for a free literary conversation about writing, identity and representation.
The author and blogger behind Mrs Roots explores Afro-feminism, the visibility of African-descended voices in French-language literature and the significance of diverse stories for young audiences. Her work spans children's books, young-adult fiction, graphic novels and cultural initiatives.
Publications include Comme un million de papillons noirs, the speculative fiction trilogy Nos Jours Brûlés, and graphic novels Amours Croisées and Quand vient l’été. Her 2025 novel Écrire avant l’aube imaginatively revisits the life of Nobel laureate Toni Morrison through themes of resilience and memory.
