The FILMINDIA season continues with Om-Dar-B-Dar, Kamal Swaroop’s 1988 experimental film, presented in a restored version. Now regarded as a cult work of Indian cinema, the film rejects linear storytelling and brings mythology, science, popular magic, satire, music and fragments of everyday life into a deliberately free and disorienting structure.
Rather than following a conventional plot, Om-Dar-B-Dar works through association, abrupt shifts in tone, symbolic images and absurd humour. Its singular form offers an unusual entry point into the most radical traditions of Indian parallel cinema and into a history of experimental filmmaking rarely encountered in Morocco’s commercial screening circuits.
The screening takes place on Monday 27 July 2026 at 7:00 PM in the Pierre Bergé Auditorium. Running time: 101 minutes. The restored film will be shown in Hindi with English subtitles. Admission is free with advance booking through the Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech.
