About this event
The Maghreb Film Festival returns to Oujda from October 16 to 21, 2026 for a new edition dedicated to North African cinema and the stories moving across the region. Founded in 2012 and organised by Association Ciné Maghreb, the festival is rooted in a border city whose history and geography offer a meaningful setting for exploring cultural circulation, shared memories and social change across the Maghreb.
The detailed programme, film selection and screening venues have not yet been announced and will be added when released. The festival nevertheless provides an important meeting place for directors, actors, critics, students and audiences, increasing the visibility of Moroccan and Maghrebi films while encouraging discussion around contemporary cinematic writing. Its presence in Oujda also contributes to decentralising cultural access and bringing cinema closer to audiences throughout Morocco’s Oriental region.
