About this event
The event
Two Moroccan samâ traditions share the stage at Bab Al Makina: the Ouazzaniya order opens the evening, followed by the Rissouniya order. The programme explicitly describes the performance in two parts.
Artistic and cultural context
The pairing offers an opportunity to hear different vocal repertoires and approaches to devotional expression within Morocco's living Sufi heritage. Across the festival, evenings dedicated to individual brotherhoods highlight continuity, transmission and the diversity of their sung poetry.
