About this event
A trio building bridges between musical traditions
TRIO JAZZANAS brings together Linda and François Gallix, who have collaborated for more than twenty years with musicians from North and West Africa, the Americas and beyond. They are joined by Franco-Bolivian drummer Sol Espinoza. Their programme connects classic bebop and hard bop to compositions influenced by African and Moroccan rhythmic traditions, offering both recognisable jazz language and cross-cultural invention.
Following the spirit of Randy Weston
The organisers place their approach in dialogue with the legacy of jazz pianist Randy Weston, who explored connections between jazz and African musical heritage. The trio's combination of improvisation and rhythmic exchange makes the concert an opportunity to hear how musical traditions can enrich one another without erasing their distinct identities. The event is presented in partnership with the Centre Les Étoiles de la Médina.
