A heritage house and gallery in Batha

Dar Bacha Tazi Gallery occupies a historic complex in the Batha area and houses the Fès-Saïss Association. The venue combines traditional architecture, organisational functions and exhibition use. Its courtyard, salons and connecting spaces support installations that engage directly with the fabric and memory of the building.

The Fès-Saïss Association has worked for several decades across cultural, social and territorial development. It is closely connected to the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music and to initiatives promoting the city’s heritage, knowledge and craft traditions.

Exhibitions, craftsmanship and intangible heritage

The gallery hosts temporary exhibitions, craft presentations, encounters and documentary projects. In June 2026, following a comprehensive restoration reported by the organisers, it presented “Courtyard San’a”, an immersive installation devoted to master craftspeople from Fez and the wider region. Photography, sound, video, ethnographic materials and working tools connected technical gestures with contemporary interpretation.

This type of project defines the venue’s particular role: heritage is presented not as a fixed decorative background but as a set of practices, narratives and professions sustained by people. The gallery can therefore operate as an interface among festivals, associations, researchers, artists and craft communities.

A venue with event-based access

Dar Bacha Tazi is not a museum with a clearly published permanent timetable. Access depends on exhibitions, talks and programmes announced by the Fès-Saïss Association or its partners. Confirm that an event is taking place and check its admission conditions before travelling.
