About Perdicaris Palace – Heritage Interpretation Centre
From palace to interpretation centre
Built in 1878 for Ion Perdicaris, the palace has housed a heritage interpretation centre since April 2022. Set in Rmilat Forest, around six kilometres from central Tangier, it explores his story and regional biodiversity.
Architecture and landscape
The Ministry describes a building combining Queen Anne, classical and medieval influences. The municipality highlights a learning route about Rmilat’s plants and animals. Together, the building and forest offer two complementary ways to approach the visit: architectural observation and an introduction to the surrounding natural environment.
Tickets
Checked on 14 October 2026, the official ticket page lists Moroccan or resident adults at MAD 30 and their children aged 7–13 at MAD 10; foreign adults at MAD 60 and foreign children aged 7–13 at MAD 30. It advertises free entry for Moroccans on Fridays and the first days of national and religious holidays. Recheck conditions before travelling.
Planning your visit
The municipality lists 10 am–5 pm, closed Tuesdays. Confirm the schedule for your intended date. Groups should ask about booking arrangements, interpretation languages and accessibility before arrival; these services are not confirmed here. Allow additional time if combining the indoor visit with a forest walk, and plan transport independently.
Other cultural stops
Consider the Kasbah Museum of Mediterranean Cultures and the Kasbah Contemporary Art Space for a wider cultural itinerary in Tangier. Each venue has its own admission arrangements.
