About this event
In “The Time of a Blink,” Daoud Aoulad-Syad reveals a less familiar side of his practice: a selection of colour photographs extending more than thirty years of close attention to Moroccan popular culture. Street performers, travelling entertainers, moving bodies and ordinary figures become the protagonists of a visual narrative created from within society, far removed from folkloric stereotypes and external gazes.
Committed to analogue photography and its material accidents, Aoulad-Syad embraces grain, imperfection and dense colour as traces of lived reality. The exhibition highlights his ability to capture, in a fraction of a second, a presence, a gesture or a subtle tension. Presented at Galerie Delacroix as part of Photo Tanger, in partnership with MACAAL, it offers a fresh encounter with a photographer and filmmaker whose work links documentary observation, poetry and social memory.
