University filmmaking meets digital innovation
The first Rabat International University Film and Digital Innovation Festival (RIUFDIF) takes place from 28 to 30 December 2026. Organised by the Moroccan Association of Arts and Student Creations, the new event brings together university filmmakers and practitioners experimenting with animation, digital storytelling, artificial intelligence and new audiovisual formats.
Five competition categories
Organisers invite short fiction films, short documentaries, animation and digital creative works, films made using AI techniques, and innovative digital experiences. The competition aims to encourage both conventional cinematic storytelling and emerging forms of student-led moving-image creation. Selected film titles and individual screening times have not yet been announced.
Awards and submission deadline
Seven awards are listed: Festival Grand Prix, Best Fiction Film, Best Documentary, Digital Creation Prize, Artificial Intelligence Prize, Jury Prize and Audience Prize. The official film submission deadline is 30 October 2026. The application form is for competition entrants, not an audience ticket reservation.
