About this event

Writer, political scientist and scholar of Islam Rachid Benzine speaks at the Institut français de Rabat on 'De l'éthique du commun à la gestique des mots'. Part of a European literary café in the context of Rabat World Book Capital, the conversation explores what makes living together possible and how literature shapes listening, memory and the transmission of experience. A researcher associated with the Paul Ricœur Fund, Benzine has written novels, essays and plays including 'Lettre à Nour', 'Ainsi parlait ma mère', 'Les silences des pères' and 'L'homme qui lisait des livres'. His writing addresses belief, family ties, identity and community. Organised in partnership with the European Union in Morocco, this Rabat meeting is distinct from his appearances in Tangier and Tetouan. Thursday 12 November 2026 at 5:30 pm, Institut français de Rabat media library, 1 rue Abou Inane. Free admission subject to capacity.
