About this event
About the event
Théâtre Chamates is in residence at the Institut français de Meknès from 23 to 28 October 2026, developing a stage adaptation of Rachid Benzine's novel Les Silences des pères. Directed by Bousselham Daïf, the production explores family ties, migration and the unspoken experiences passed from one generation to the next. A son discovers his late father's audio tapes and begins to understand the history of a life lived between Morocco and France.
Cultural context
The residency is dedicated to rehearsals, actors' direction, dramatic pacing and the refinement of theatrical staging. The artistic team searches for ways to give physical and vocal form to letters, recordings and memories that have remained hidden. It is a working period for the company, not a programme of separate public performances on each of the six days.
Practical information
23–28 October 2026 at the Institut français de Meknès, Rue Ferhat Hachad. The organiser has not announced public access to rehearsals, bookable visits or tickets to the residency itself. The staged presentation on 28 October at 7 pm is a separate event with its own listing.
