About this event
From 26 November to 5 December 2026, Rabat becomes a living stage through Urban Safar, an immersive theatre journey across the Kasbah of the Oudayas and the old medina. Instead of watching performers from a fixed seat, audiences walk through neighbourhoods and encounter residents whose memories and personal stories help shape the performance.
Conceived by Dutch theatre-maker Adelheid Roosen and developed by Female Economy, the project follows an 'Adoption' method: performers spend time with local residents before building theatre from their shared experiences. The Rabat edition brings together Female Economy, Kabareh Cheikhats and Fondation HIBA, following a Moroccan edition held in Tangier in 2024. The city, its heritage and its people become co-authors of the work.
Ten performances are advertised from 26 November to 5 December 2026, approximately 7:30–10 pm, in the Oudayas and Rabat medina. Adult tickets MAD 100; student tickets MAD 60 with proof. Check Wanaut for available dates and the exact meeting point.
