A media library designed for different audiences

Iklyle Cultural Centre Oujda includes a media library with a Readers’ Hub for visitors aged 13 and over, a Youth Area for children aged 5–12, a multimedia area with 24 Internet-connected computers, and a periodicals kiosk with magazines, reviews and newspapers.

The centre also includes a conference room, an Agora, an exhibition gallery and a training room, allowing reading, learning, exhibitions, meetings and cultural activity to take place within the same venue.

Arts and digital workshops from age five

Workshops are open from age five and are organised for groups of 8 to 12 participants. Each workshop runs on a quarterly cycle, with one session per week lasting approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

  • Visual arts: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and pottery;
  • Music: musical initiation, instrumental practice and choir;
  • Drama: theatre for children and young people;
  • Digital fabrication: robotics, graphic design, 3D modelling and CAD;
  • Coding and AI: coding, artificial intelligence, mapping and virtual reality.

  • an online catalogue for searching and reserving books, checking an account and extending loans;

  • accessibility and assistance services for visitors with specific needs;

Annual centre membership

Membership is valid for one year from the registration date. It provides access to the media library, its resources, spaces and cultural activities, and gives members the right to register for arts workshops.

  • Foundation member / spouse: MAD 200;
  • child of a member under 21: MAD 100;
  • adult sponsored by a Foundation member: MAD 300;
  • child of a sponsored person under 18: MAD 150;
  • university student: MAD 150;
  • person with specific needs: 50% reduction depending on category.

Quarterly arts-workshop fees

  • Foundation member or eligible beneficiary: MAD 500;
  • child of a sponsored person under 18: MAD 700;
  • university student: MAD 700;
  • adult sponsored by a Foundation member: MAD 1,000;
  • person with specific needs: 50% reduction depending on category.

For a family membership of three people or more, the head of household pays the full rate for their category and the other family members receive a 50% reduction according to their category.

Borrowing and additional fees

The annual document-loan service costs MAD 200. The fee is non-refundable and renewed with each re-registration. Replacing a membership card costs MAD 35. Borrowing is limited to three items for up to 21 days.

Documents required for registration

  • an identity document — national ID card or passport;
  • a recent ID photo;
  • a copy of the Foundation membership card in sponsorship cases;
  • supporting documentation for university students and people with specific needs;
  • a family record book for sponsored-family memberships.
