French Institute of Oujda

## A place for learning and cultural encounters The Institut français d’Oujda is the local branch of the Institut français du Maroc in the Al Qods neighbourhood, Lots Chabab. Its activities combine French-language learning with screenings, author talks, music, exhibitions and cultural mediation. In eastern Morocco’s principal city, the institute supports exchanges between artists, educators and audiences and provides opportunities to encounter artistic work from Morocco and abroad. Its cultural programme and media library complement its educational role. ## Arts and cultural programming in 2026 The 2026 programme illustrates this range: open-air cinema under the « IF sous les étoiles » banner ran in late September; musician Mehdi Qamoum was featured on 10 October; and a literary conversation with Oifâa Mtafi around « L’olivier et les trois étoiles » is listed for 21 October. The « Galerie des promesses » presents Nadia Echchadli, a Figuig-born artist living in Oujda, from 29 October to 20 November, showcasing narrative figurative painting.
