Timitar 2026 opens by expressing the festival’s founding idea: placing Amazigh roots in conversation with contemporary musical circulation. At Place Al Amal, the women’s Ahwach ensemble Tiferkhin begins the evening before performances by L’Artiste, Benny Adam & Guests, DJ Key and Najat Aatabou, a major voice in Moroccan popular music.
At the Verdure Theatre, the programme takes on a more intimate and trans-Saharan character with Mauritanian singer Malouma Mint Mokhtar and Fatima Tihihite, an emblematic figure of Amazigh song. Together, the two stages present complementary expressions of Timitar’s musical identity, combining transmission, hybrid creation and live energy. The exact starting time is yet to be confirmed.
