Ahmed Sabri House of Culture – Casablanca

## Venue and history **Dar Taqafa Ahmed Sabri**, the **Ahmed Sabri House of Culture**, is a public cultural facility associated with **Casablanca's Maârif district**. The city's **CasaIn** neighbourhood-services platform identifies it as a venue where partner associations can reserve equipped coworking rooms. It is **not the similarly named private Dar Attakafa publishing house and bookstore on Boulevard Victor Hugo**: they are separate entities with different purposes. ## Facilities and cultural purpose On **30–31 July 2026**, the venue hosted the **20th International Poetry and Zajal Festival of Casablanca**, organised by **Association Badira for Communication and Social Development**. The event included competitions spanning metrical poetry, free verse and Moroccan vernacular zajal, alongside artist tributes and conversations. According to its closing announcement published in early August, sessions began at **5 pm**. The festival demonstrates a documented role in public literary culture beyond the venue's association-focused coworking offer. ## Events, programming and current status Associations can request access to municipal rooms through CasaIn under the published conditions; this does not imply that every programme is freely accessible without registration. **The verified street number, seating capacity and routine public opening hours are unavailable** from the consulted sources. Event announcements and Maârif district administration should be the reference for directions and access. The cover illustration depicts **the Maârif neighbourhood**, not this cultural hall. ## Practical visitor information - **Location :** Arrondissement Maârif, Casablanca, Maroc ; numéro de rue à confirmer auprès de l’arrondissement - **Phone :** not verified - **Before attending :** Opening times, fees and booking vary by event; confirm with the organiser before travelling. ## Related cultural venues [Complexe culturel Mohamed Zefzaf](/institutions/complexe-culturel-mohamed-zefzaf) · [Galerie 121 – Institut français Casablanca](/institutions/galerie-121-institut-francais-casablanca) ## Sources and image credit [casain.ma](https://casain.ma/ar/reservation-espace-coworking.php) · [www.bayanemarrakech.com](https://www.bayanemarrakech.com/%D8%A8%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%BA-%D8%B5%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%81%D9%8A-%D8%AD%D9%88%D9%84-%D8%A7%D8%AE%D8%AA%D8%AA%D8%A7%D9%85-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D9%88%D8%B1%D8%A9-20-%D9%85%D9%86-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%87%D8%B1/) · [alrased.news](https://alrased.news/2026/08/04/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A8%D9%8A%D8%B6%D8%A7%D8%A1-%D8%AA%D8%AE%D8%AA%D8%AA%D9%85-%D9%81%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%8A%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D9%87%D8%B1%D8%AC%D8%A7%D9%86/) *Wikimedia Commons — photographie d'ambiance du quartier Maârif ; ne représente pas l'établissement.*
