About this event
To inaugurate its new Casablanca space, Loft Art Gallery presents HAMASĀT AL-FAJR — “Whispers of Dawn” through October 18, 2026, a major group exhibition connecting artistic memory, transmission and the renewal of visual languages.
The Arabic title, meaning “Whispers of Dawn”, refers to the moment when something new begins to emerge from what already exists. The exhibition therefore approaches renewal not as rupture, but as an active continuity between generations, materials, references and histories.
The selection brings together major figures of Moroccan and African modern art with contemporary artists, including Amina Agueznay, Malika Agueznay, Walid Ardhaoui, Mustapha Azeroual, Nassim Azarzar, Hiba Baddou, Farid Belkahia, Mohamed Chabâa, Joana Choumali, Elladj Lincy Deloumeaux, Khadija El Abyad, Abdelkrim Ghattas, Mohamed Hamidi, Saâd Hassani, M’hammed Kilito, Mehdi-Georges Lahlou, Radia Lamrani, Mous Lamrabat, Mohamed Melehi, Amina Rezki and Samy Snoussi.
Painting, photography, drawing, textile and hybrid practices intersect around memory, material, identity and experimentation. The presence of Belkahia, Chabâa and Melehi anchors the exhibition in the history of Moroccan modernism, while younger artists extend and transform those legacies.
By opening its new space with this exhibition, Loft Art Gallery also signals a curatorial direction based on dialogue between historical continuity and emerging African scenes.
