## Institution, history and identity The **Instituto Cervantes of Marrakech**, at **14 bis Boulevard Mohammed V in Guéliz**, is a Spanish cultural and educational centre linking language learning with the arts. Its mission supports encounters involving Moroccan, Spanish and Latin American cultural work, from literature and film to interdisciplinary events. The centre has a **university-based extension in Agadir at the new campus in Cité Dakhla**; this is not an alternative address for Marrakech's main site. ## Libraries, facilities and cultural resources Services include **general and specialised Spanish classes**, **DELE** examination preparation, programmes for children and professionals and the **Aula Virtual de Español** online platform. The **José Ángel Valente Library** holds, according to the institute, roughly **6,000 items** including books, periodicals and audiovisual materials. However, the official directions page explicitly marks the **library as temporarily closed**, so its physical services should not be advertised as accessible without confirmation of reopening. ## 2026 programme and visitor guidance The arts programme spans **literature, theatre, film, dance and visual art** through collaboration with Moroccan and Spanish organisations. **Autumn 2026** communications cover literary activities and the 2026–2027 teaching season. Published administrative opening hours are **Monday–Friday 9 am–1 pm and 3–6:30 pm**. Some events take place at partner venues, and exhibition access or tickets are separate from course registration.
