About Jardin Majorelle

Things to do in Marrakech →

The Jardin Majorelle is a landmark of garden design, architecture and artistic heritage in Marrakech. French painter Jacques Majorelle began creating it in 1922; the ensemble now extends across approximately 9,000 square metres of botanical planting, winding pathways and strikingly coloured buildings. Its blend of Moorish architectural influences and Art Deco forms gives the site a distinctive place in Morocco’s twentieth-century cultural landscape.

The garden should be understood as a heritage destination in its own right, separate from the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts and the nearby Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech. Visitors encounter the celebrated Majorelle blue, curated plant collections and the story of the site’s preservation. Opening hours and admission conditions change: consult the official ticketing website before travelling.

Nearby cultural sites include the Pierre Bergé Museum of Berber Arts and Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech. Official reference: jardinmajorelle.com.
