Three days to reconnect with life
In « Nino », a young man in Paris receives devastating medical news. He has three days before facing an ordeal, during which his doctors ask him to complete two tasks. These lead him across the city and into encounters with family, friends and figures from his past. As he walks and listens, Nino tries to reconnect with his body and with other people. Director Pauline Loquès finds moments of tenderness, quiet comedy and emotional complexity without turning the film into a conventional medical melodrama.
An award-winning French first feature
Released in 2025, Loquès’ 97-minute debut stars Théodore Pellerin, William Lebghil, Salomé Dewaels and Jeanne Balibar. It received the 2026 César awards for Best First Film and Most Promising Actor for Pellerin. Everyday gestures and chance meetings create a sensitive portrait of vulnerability, friendship and resilience. The Essaouira screening is part of the Institut français local film programme.
