About this event

For the first edition of Morocco Design, the Italian Embassy in Morocco is exceptionally opening the doors of Teatro Italia in Casablanca for “The Invisible Axis”, a solo exhibition by Moroccan artist and designer Hamza Kadiri curated by Amine Amharech.

The venue is central to the project: Teatro Italia is still undergoing renovation and the construction site is deliberately left visible. Raw surfaces, building traces, materials and the changing architecture enter into direct dialogue with Kadiri’s work.

The artist explores material, wood, sculpture and the relationship between contemporary form and craft knowledge. The exhibition emerged specifically from his encounter with the theatre in this transitional state, before the renovation gives it a new appearance.

Hamza Kadiri belongs to a new generation of Moroccan creators gaining international visibility. In 2026, his work is also represented at Homo Faber at the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice.

The exhibition is open October 5–6 from 11 am to 8 pm and October 7 from 11 am to 2 pm. It is one of the highlights of Morocco Design 2026.
