Tétouan House of Poetry

Tétouan House of Poetry was founded in 2016 through an agreement between the culture departments of Morocco and Sharjah. It is also listed in the Ministry’s library guide.

An institution devoted to poetry

The official Maroc.ma portal documents the launch of its tenth cultural season, combining poetry, music and intellectual exchange. Its focus differs from a general library: audiences should consult event programmes and admission arrangements.

Meetings and participation

When proposing a reading, author meeting or collective project, specify the format, contributors and audience. A cultural season does not guarantee daily premises access or book borrowing. Check each event’s location, since activities may take place away from the institution’s base.

Planning a visit or research enquiry

Arrangements differ for reading on site, consulting a particular document, accompanying a child or attending an activity. Explain your needs before travelling. For research, prepare the author, title or subject; for a group visit, ask whether an appointment and supervision are required.

Access to collections and activities

• Confirm opening hours and any closure periods.
• Ask about membership, borrowing and on-site consultation.
• Check rules for copying and photographing documents.
• Consult recent announcements for workshops and meetings.

Attending an event does not automatically provide library membership. The existence of a documentary collection does not mean every item can be borrowed. Fragile and heritage material may have specific consultation requirements.
