About the event
Artist and designer Amir-farouk Berny, a graduate of Paris's École des Arts Décoratifs, explores textile as a carrier of cultural memory and stories. During his Tétouan residency from 19 October to 16 November, he meets weavers, embroiderers and local craftspeople to learn their techniques and traditions. Combining French and Maghrebi cultural influences, his research experiments with hybrid weaving, embroidered fragments and narrative textiles, treating the idea of home as something that can travel with its inhabitants.
