About this event
After Casablanca, Le Rôti continues its Moroccan tour at Meydene Marrakech. The play begins with an everyday situation — a couple inviting two friends to dinner — and shifts when one guest refuses the main dish for religious reasons. The reactions expose prejudices hidden beneath hospitality and the difficulty of discussing difference without causing new wounds.
Amanda Sthers uses comedy and incisive dialogue to question tolerance, social hypocrisy and everyone’s need to be right. Benjamin Elharrar’s direction gives the four characters a presence that is both heightened and immediately recognisable. Announced running time: 75 minutes.
