“Crazy Lines” by Yassine Balbzioui is an in-situ installation at MACAAL in Marrakech, on view through 8 January 2027. The work extends the artist’s long-running exploration of masked figures, grotesque scenes and situations where humour, strangeness and ambiguity remain deliberately unresolved.
Rather than occupying a conventional gallery room, Crazy Lines is installed in a transitional area between the ground and first floors. The visitor encounters the work while moving through the museum, making circulation and architecture part of the experience. It is a useful entry point into contemporary Moroccan practice within MACAAL’s 2026 artistic season.
