About this event
The Marrakech Photography Encounters return from October 7 to 10, 2026 for a sixth edition coinciding with the bicentenary of photography. Over four days, the city becomes a space for images to circulate through outdoor exhibitions, presentations in emblematic venues, monumental screenings, workshops for young audiences, professional meetings and the Discovery Prize.\n\nThe event connects photographers and visual artists from Morocco, Africa, Europe and the diasporas. Its importance lies both in the diversity of documentary, conceptual, intimate and experimental approaches and in its commitment to transmission. By bringing established authors, emerging talent, professionals and residents into the same programme, the Encounters approach photography as a way of reading the present through questions of identity, territory, migration, memory and social change. Detailed artists, venues and times will be added as the official programme is released.
