About this event
From your pocket to the big screen
The Moroccan Short Mobile Film Contest (MMFC) returns for its fourth edition in 2026. Organised by the Patrimoine Image Association, it welcomes young and emerging filmmakers, students and mobile creators seeking to tell original stories with a smartphone rather than professional filming equipment. Each entry must be no longer than three minutes and fit one of three categories: fiction, documentary or vertical film. The 2026 creative theme is “Frame 212”.
The 2026 timeline
Film submissions opened on 1 October and close on 5 November 2026 via the organiser's website. Jury deliberations are set for 7 November and the awards ceremony and public film showcase are scheduled for 19 November 2026 in Casablanca. The exact films to be shown, start time, visitor admission and booking method have not yet been specified.
2026 jury and festival history
The jury is made up of filmmaker Nour-Eddine Lakhmari, actress Sonia Okacha, writer-director Mohcine Nadifi and documentary filmmaker/creator Amine Aouni. Since its launch in 2023, the festival reports more than 620 submitted films across its first three editions, positioning mobile filmmaking as an accessible gateway to storytelling.
How to enter and visit
Filmmakers should use the official submission form and provide a link to their finished mobile film. The form is not a public ticket reservation. The festival homepage and contemporary reporting name Théâtre Hassan on Route d'El Jadida in Casablanca for the 19 November celebration, but the dedicated ceremony page still marks the venue and programme as to be confirmed.
