As part of FILMINDIA, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech presents Udaan (Flight), Vikramaditya Motwane’s 2010 debut feature. Rohan, a teenager expelled from boarding school, returns to an authoritarian father after years apart. Between imposed discipline, domestic violence and his desire to write, he searches for a way to shape his own life. The film moves beyond conventional representations of Indian popular cinema. Through family tension, silence and everyday gestures, it examines the conflict between personal vocation and social expectation. This screening provides an entry point into independent Hindi cinema within a season linking heritage, parallel cinema and contemporary filmmaking. Hindi with English subtitles; 138 minutes. Free admission with mandatory advance booking. Screening at 7:00 PM in the Pierre Bergé Auditorium.
