What We Carry at Loft Art Gallery
Artists James Mishio and Kwaku Yaro present works developed during their residency in Marrakech in an exhibition titled What We Carry, shown at Loft Art Gallery from 28 October to 18 December 2026. The project explores what objects, fabrics and second-hand clothing can reveal about memory, identity and movement between places.
Materials moving between Accra and Marrakech
Reused textiles, paint and recovered materials connect the daily life of markets in Accra and Marrakech. The exhibition considers how clothes and objects travel, acquire new associations and carry traces of people and histories across cultural settings. Visitors can discover two artistic approaches in dialogue around material culture and contemporary African experience.
